Support the Hay Poetry Jamboree

High-profile media-whoring is not the only activity in Hay-on-Wye in June. On the fringe of the Hay Festival is the Hay Poetry Jamboree. Run by volunteers on a shoestring budget, it's one of the most open-spirited, inquisitive and intimate of small poetry/arts festivals.

It takes place this year from 2-4 June at the Oriel Gallery of Contemporary Arts, Salem Chapel, Bell Bank, Hay-on-Wye. Poets reading or talking include Ralph Hawkins, Allen Fisher, Robert Sheppard, Carol Watts, Sean Bonney, Frances Presley, Glenn Storhaug, Gavin Selerie, David Annwn, Zoe Skoulding, Kelvin Corcoran and Maggie O'Sullivan.

As the Jamboree has no funding, it's appealing for sponsors. You can become a Friend of the Jamboree for a cost of between £10-£20 - you get various goodies in return, according to the level of your support. Email Lyndon Davies for details.
